Abstract:Biliary and pancreatic diseases are a major difficulty in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive tract. ERCP is a common method for the diagnosis and treatment of biliary and pancreatic diseases and is widely used in clinical practice. However, ERCP cannot directly diagnose and treat biliary and pancreatic duct diseases, and cannot accurately evaluate the degree of lesions. With the progress of science and technology, the peroral biliary-pancreaticoscopy came into being, making the last blind spot of the digestive tract to be lit. The application of peroral biliary-pancreaticoscopy in clinical diagnosis and treatment mainly includes direct diagnosis and targeted biopsy of the biliary and pancreatic system, assisted radiofrequency ablation and photodynamic therapy, assisted lithotripsy of difficult biliary and pancreatic duct stones, diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder and appendix diseases. Therefore, this article will review the progress of clinical diagnosis and treatment of transoral cholangiopancreatic duct endoscopy.
