Abstract:This study explores the treatment of radiation enteritis (RE), with a focus on the application of endoscopic radiofrequency ablation (ERFA). While radiotherapy is an essential part of cancer treatment, its side effects can lead to severe complications like RE. This article reports a case where ERFA was used to treat RE, resulting in significant symptom improvement and good mucosal healing observed in follow-up colonoscopies. ERFA alleviates inflammation and reduces fibrosis through thermal coagulation effects. Although its efficacy has been preliminarily verified, more high-quality studies with larger samples are needed to evaluate its effectiveness and cost-efficiency, providing a basis for clinical application.
