Abstract:Colonoscopy is a frontline clinical tool for the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of colorectal cancer and precancerous lesions, inflammatory bowel disease, and other conditions. Artificial intelligence technology plays a significant role in the quality control and auxiliary diagnosis of colonoscopy, but there is no consensus on the clinical application of colonoscopy artificial intelligence systems domestically or internationally to date. In 2023, Big Data Collaboration Group, Digestive Endoscopology Branch of Chinese Medical Association organized a discussion among national experts in the field, combining the latest domestic and international evidence-based medical evidence, to form a consensus on the clinical application of the colonoscopy artificial intelligence system, aiming to provide a reasonable decision-making basis for clinical physicians applying colonoscopy artificial intelligence. The consensus includes recommendations for the application of artificial intelligence in 9 parts totaling 12 statements, such as bowel preparation assessment, polyp recognition, polyp typing, withdrawal quality control, etc., as well as requirements for the clinical application of colonoscopy artificial intelligence systems.
