Digestive endoscopy plays an indispensible role in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases and serves as the gold criteria for early detection of gastrointestinal cancer. Digestive endoscopic procedures have been increasingly performed in various levels of medical institutions and health management centers in China. The National Quality Control Center of Digestive Endoscopy, together with Chinese Endoscopist Association and Chinese Society of Digestive Endoscopology, organized relevant experts and developed this guideline based on current literature and Chinese situation. The guideline includes requirements and recommendations on the functional area setting, facilities management, staffing and staff training of digestive endoscopy center to standardize the construction and operation of endoscopy centers and improve the quality and safety of digestive endoscopy procedures.
